The Mesmerizing Taj Mahal!

The Taj Mahal, Agra, India is the most elegant and architecturally spectacular tomb in the world. Architecture at its best!!!The Taj Mahal, Agra, India is the most elegant and architecturally spectacular tomb in the world. Architecture at its best!!!

It has been considered as a wonder of the world for many years now and sits on the banks of the Yamuna River. A mesmerizing piece of artwork in white marble and inlaid with precious and semi-precious jewels all over. The grandeur and opulence bespeak of an era gone by when India was a very rich country.

The Taj Mahal was built by the fifth Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved third wife Mumtaz Mahal. She was his soul-mate and his favourite and when she died he had this etereal piece of architecture made in her honour. It is said, that, it was requested by her that when she died he would build the Taj - a promise that we can see decades later that he indeed did keep. It is also said that when she died, a very vital piece of Shah Jahan died with her as well - and his hair turned white overnight.

However, he did not get to visit the tomb very much as his son Aurangzeb, who was to succeed him on the throne, had him kept under house arrest. Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown - certainly speaks volumes here.

Sir Edwin Arnold describes the Taj Mahal very elequently as. "Not a piece of architecture, as other buildings are, but the proud passions of an emperor’s love wrought in living stones."

Thinking postive thoughts......takes you where you want to go!!!

You often hear people say that you attract into your life what you think about. How true is that???

Many of us who have grown up in the 50s and 60s were given a very limited vision of what we could expect out of life. As my mother used to tell me - in all her wisdom at that time - was that I should learn to cut my coat according to the cloth in my hand.

However, thanks to positive thinking and oooooodles of books on it - I have learnt that my mother's wisdom was out-dated and not constructive to my personal growth. However, having learnt that as a child when I became a mother, I taught my children the same ........... till I realized that there was a better way and that was to first decide what kind of a coat I wanted, how long, how wide and how much material I would need for it and then I should go out and buy that material. If money was an issue, then I needed to find out how much more it would cost than I already had; and then work upon procuring that money so I could eventually buy the coat. It works much better that way!!!

It's these little things in life that really holds us back. By limiting our beliefs we limit our growth process and hence, eventually our lives. In order to correct this we need to get into the habit of thinking about abundance in our lives - and not allow ourselves any barriers at all.

The first thing to do, then is to write out your goals and revisit them at least twice each day. Read them out to yourself and others if you wish, so that eventually they permeate into your sub-conscious mind in such a way, that they become your everyday conscious and sub-conscious thoughts.

What happens is really elementary. By focusing your thoughts on what you want in life, it becomes your all consuming thoght and sub-consciously -as well as consciously you mind helps you to make decisions and choices that lead you to your goal.:)
